HONORING A DISTILLING LEGACY – WITH A TWIST

As independent bottlers, Rolling Fork delivers adventure to spirits enthusiasts through the history, complexity, and variety of the finest rums.

Turner Wathen and Jordan Morris founded Rolling Fork Spirits in 2017 in honor of Kentucky's famed Rolling Fork Distillery, established 1788. To honor this distilling legacy, we import the finest rums (without additives) made around the globe and we match them with hand-selected whiskey casks for secondary maturation. Through blending and finishing, we craft rums that adhere to our motto: no finer spirits can be made.

About the Founders

Jordan Morris and Turner Wathen met in 2012. Jordan knew that Turner was trying to make his own whiskey with a home still, and Turner knew that Jordan knew a lot about whiskey. After meeting, the two decided to buck the bourbon trend and pursue their joint passion for fine rum.

Jordan grew up in Kentucky, where whiskey became a hobby. After leaving Kentucky to pursue a law degree at Duke University, his whiskey knowledge became known to all and he became the go-to- whiskey expert in his circle of peers and friends.

By day, Jordan is a technology attorney for an autonomous vehicle company. The rest of his time is dedicated to his passion: aging and blending rum and other spirits to create unique offerings for spirits enthusiasts.

He has written for Whiskey Wash and consulted for liquor stores and events on bourbon. Somewhere along the way, Jordan noticed his interest in well-aged spirits had grown to include the many fascinating expressions of rums from around the world. Rolling Fork’s first product, Fortuitous Union, highlighted these intersecting interests with the award-winning, first-of-its-kind, blending of rum and rye whiskey. Since then, Jordan has continued sourcing and blending rums to push the conversation of fine rums with American spirits enthusiasts.

Turner also grew up in Kentucky, as part of a legendary distilling family. Wathen’s family has been making bourbon whiskey for five generations, beginning in 1788.

After pursuing an undergraduate degree at Miami of Ohio University in Psychology and an MBA at Bellermine University in Louisville, Turner embarked on a career in sales and marketing.

But his passion for finely crafted spirits, and the Wathen family legacy, led him to dedicate his nights and weekends to creating his own whiskey. One of his family’s mottos was “No Finer Spirits,” and while rum might seem like an odd pursuit for two gentlemen hailing from the great bourbon state, the rums that Turner and Jordan are importing follow the family motto in its truest sense.

Jordan and Turner are honoring the fine traditions of American whiskey making, and doing it with a twist, by crafting rums that meet the high standards of American whiskey standards and live up to the motto of “No Finer Spirits.”
